Hi, my name is Cynthia, nice to meet you! I believe that warmth, positive regard, and acceptance are important to find the insights within and the tools for an important change in our lives.  It is important for me to build a therapeutic relationship with genuineness and work together to enhance self-awareness and self-compassion. I prioritize allowing each person the agency to adapt tools and techniques to their individual experiences or needs.

My strong interest in individuals and the impact of society, culture on the development of personality led me to Concordia University where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Joint Specialization Anthropology and Sociology and a minor in Psychology. A passion for mental health, advocacy, and counselling led me to McGill University’s Bachelor of Social Work and I subsequently obtained my psychotherapy practice permit from the Order of Quebec Psychologist.

I have practiced in the mental health field for 10 years in both the community and public sector. In a community mental health center, I have led psychotherapy groups incorporating an integrative trauma-informed mindfulness approach. In the public sector, as a Social Worker I worked on a CLSC Youth Mental Health team working with children, teens, and their families experiencing important mental health needs. In these settings, I have had leadership and teaching roles which have made me gain valuable insight into client’s needs and the impact of clinical interventions.

In my practice as a psychotherapist, I have an integrative approach that is Humanist at its core and integrates a range of approaches such as Psychodynamic, Eco-Systemic, and Existentialist. I also have clinical experience in a variety of evidence-based techniques, including trauma-informed Mindfulness Cognitive therapy (MBCT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). As such, I can inform our work together with evidence-based tools and self-reflexive exercises that can help you get to your chosen goals.

I am registered with the Order of Social Workers and Marriage and Family therapist of Quebec and have a psychotherapy permit from the Order of Psychologists of Quebec.
