Psychologist

Licensed Psychologist with the Order of Psychologists of Quebec OPQ# 13937-20

Hello, I’m Dr. Matthew Clyde. I’ve been working in mental health for the past 8 years. I’ve had the opportunity to work across a variety of sites, including university and private practice clinics, community mental health centers, and several hospitals. I have experience working with individuals aged 15-80 with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, interpersonal-issues, stress, sleep difficulties, trauma, life transitions, coping with chronic medical conditions, fear of cancer recurrence, chronic pain, emotion regulation, and personality disorders.

My approach is integrative, and founded on the use of evidence-based treatments, with a strong emphasis on meeting my clients wherever they are when they choose to seek services. This means applying  research-backed and empirically-supported treatments, and adapting them to meet the needs of my clients in the here-and-now. By listening and learning about my client’s strengths, struggles, and understanding of their situation, I work on building a strong conceptualization and treatment plan that is open, flexible, and evolves as our work progresses. In doing so, I hope to chart a path in helping clients both heal and grow from their past experiences, and learn new ways of relating to both themselves and others. While it can be daunting when making the decision to seek out help, a key facet of therapy is trust, and it is my belief that trust can only be attained by working in concert with one another in facing whatever pain or distress you are experiencing . It is my hope that through openness, flexibility, and a willingness to meet my clients wherever they are, that collaboratively we can work towards healthier, more adaptive, and practical solutions to your difficulties.
